The Great Scout Campout
When?: Jan 29th until Jan 31st.
What?: A weekend camp.
Why?: Do we need an excuse to camp? :) With a pause in place on youth camping in Canada for the past 10 months we need to get some camping done.
How?: Pitch a tent, build a debris or tarp shelter, fortify the basement, livingroom, or your bedroom. Sleep somewhere other than your bed!
Find some shelter building ideas here
Who?: Any Scout, and Scouters
Where?: Your backyard, basement, livingroom, or bedroom.

Now for the wordy details.
First off, this is a Virtual Camp. Each Scout should be prepared to be responsible for their shelter, food, activities, and entertainment. Scouter's feel free to hi-jack this camp and organize local activities (based on whatever is permitted in your area) for your Section.
Even though the Scouts will be camping on their own they won't be camping alone. We will have some Zoom check-ins throughout the weekend for campers to meet others, say Hi, and share their adventures! The Zoom check-in times will be determined at a later date and posted here.
Maybe we'll even have a campfire!

Why are we asking you to register? We are going to build a map showing all the locations of where campers are camping. The required information is minimal and will only be used for generating the map, and to provide access to the map and photo album.
We would also like if you could share photos, you can share on Instagram using the hashtag #GreatScoutCampout and/or add them to the GreatScoutCampout photo album and they will be mapped on the Great Scout Campout map.
If you have any questions please email troop@bayridgescouts.ca.
